Flying in Luxury!

With 99% of the Maldives being water, we has always been dependent on sea transportation as means of transfer from one island to other. The introduction of tourism in the beautiful island nation led to the development of various luxury tourist islands and private retreats. And to cater for their transportation needs, Sea Plane services were introduced in the Maldives.

Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) which began their operations in 1989 is recognized as one of the firstborn air service operators in the Maldives. The company has now grown to become one of the largest seaplane operators in the world and has won several awards such as the World’s Leading Seaplane Operator Award, Indian Ocean’s Leading Seaplane Operator Award and many more – and the company keeps on growing day by day. As such, their recent introduction of luxury seaplane services are commendable.

Fitted with comfortable leather seats and accommodation of up to 8 passengers a time, the luxury seaplanes adds a feature which was missing previously; air conditioned luxury! Now your transfer from the island resorts or the international airport could be as comfortable as it can, thanks to the new services by TMA!

Speaking at the ceremony, CEO of TMA A.U.M Fawzy stated that this was the beginning of an exciting new chapter for TMA, and he expressed his sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks for the team at TMA.  Board member Amit Dixit, also spoke at the opening ceremony. “TMA is committed to the growth of the Maldives and the Maldives tourism. The launch of this new luxury aircraft is a demonstration of our commitment to innovation.”

“The luxury air-conditioned seaplane is the first of its kind in the Maldives and will undoubtedly contribute to the satisfaction of passengers. TMA has been listening to the needs of the tourism industry and has been constantly improving the passengers’ transfer experience, with today’s launch being just one of the examples how TMA persistently improves the quality of its service.”
